Congratulations to 2 of our Roswell Hornets in competing in the Under Armour All America Tournament this past weekend in Maryland! Both Hornets tried out in Tampa, FL with over 150 other talented 23s and 24s earlier this summer. Both were voted on to the 23 woman roster (21 field players, 2 goalies) by the 10 Highlight evaluators. The team had top talented athletes from GA, FL and NC. Senior Kayla Macleod, who also plays for Eaglestix is a 3x Under Armour All American and on the 2023 Senior Girls Watchlist for the Senior Game which will be aired on ESPNU next July. Kayla (#20 in photos) had 7 goals, 3 assists, 3 caused turnovers and 1 draw control to help the Highlight South team to the Championship bracket for the first time in years. Junior Laila Johnson, who also plays for the 2024 FL Select Club in Florida is a first time Under Armour All American and had an incredible debut performance. Laila (#1 in photos) was a steady force on the field and had 3 goals and 1 assist. The Highlight South team fell in the championship bracket to the Highlight Philadelphia team with a score of 12-7. The Highlight South team was coached by Roswell Varsity Community Head Coach, Brooke Magnuson. This is Coach Brooke's third year as the Highlight South Coach.
